I have reached the apex of the world. The dizzy feeling that washed over me was something that I have never felt before, but if I had to compare it to anything, it would be an airplane ride. Both were quickly followed by nausea and a headache. It took me a few minutes to even realize what had happened, but eventually I realized that I was viewing the whole world from way up high. The view wasn't what you could call picturesque, with large swathes of land covered in snow and ice everywhere you looked. Above me there seemed to be only grey clouds layered one after another into an infinite foggy abyss that has no end or beginning, at least not for where my eyes could see anyways. Strangely enough, the clouds didn't seem to move and I was very certain that they would continue to float in position indefinitely. I only had a moment of shock before I realized what had happened. I was standing exactly on top of one of the small islands on this world that I discovered. It was an odd feature on this huge featureless world that simply looked like a giant white sky with some ice blocks and snow on it, aside from a few clusters of trees and some hills here and there. It was certainly nothing we had seen before; we knew nothing about it aside from how we got there and why we were encountering bizarre phenomena like disappearing mountains and giant towers with snow on them. I looked down and saw that I was in some sort of column of light, like a column of lightning striking the atmosphere. I only had a moment to look at it before I noticed that my view was changing. The beam of light above me gave way to a view looking straight down with me floating in the middle. The world became more obvious when I realized I was seeing it from above, with no trees around. A flat plain with patches of snow spread everywhere extended all the way up to what I imagined was the edge of this world or universe for that matter, but there were no mountains or structures or anything else to give away where this place ended and everything else began. I could see something below me, I could only barely make it out. It was like a dark blotch on the dark background of this place, but as I started to descend towards it, it became more clear. It looked like an ancient temple or castle of some sort, with spikes protruding out of its walls and gruesome looking statues lining the gate. This was obviously where I gained access to the world itself. But what awaited me inside? Would there be other players? Would there be any NPC's either? Or would there just be other people that somehow managed to discover this mysterious wonderland before me? There was no way for me to know until I tried at least. But as I fell towards the gate, the shield guardian appeared out of nowhere and blocked my path. Its eyes turned red and it seemed to be chuckling as if it was mocking me or laughing at me. Then it started to attack: It shot one of its arms at me, but I managed to dodge at the last second before its hand smashed into the ground. The sound was incredibly loud; I was convinced that it could be heard over half of this frozen rock. It then disappeared and reappeared on top of a nearby roof, then fired down another volley of shots at me. eccc085e13
